On this day in Kutaisi we have scheduled for you many interesting places to visit. First place, which is planned today, is Bagrati Cathedral or Kutaisi Cathedral, which is located here in Kutaisi. It is an 11-th century cathedral built by the first king of united Georgia. After Bagrati, we are going to visit Gelati monastery, founded in 1106, which is a masterpiece of the Golden Age of medieval Georgia. Gelati was a center of science and education. Both, Bagrati Cathedral and Gelati Monastery are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage. After visiting these two historically important places we are going to continue our day with an enjoyable activity, which is an exploration of Prometheus Cave located near to Kutaisi. Prometheus cave is one of the longest and unique cave systems united by one underground river. The total length is 11km, of which 1060m are open for visitors to explore. The cave contains 22 halls of which 6 are open to visit for tourists. As soon as we finish discovering this marvelous cave we will transfer you to the next fabulous place, which is Okatse Canyon. Okatse is an attractive place to visit and is appreciated for its natural beauty, amazing waterfalls, and outstanding views. In this area you can also find natural stone bridges on the river and caves right in the canyon. After the sightseeing and enjoying the beauty of its nature we will transfer you back to your hotel.
